ABOUT PENNY
Penny Winter is a prolific Northern Ireland-born designer, entrepreneur and consultant with a wealth of experience in the international and Kenyan fashion industry. She trained in costume design and construction at the London College of
Fashion, and garment technology at the Belfast College of Technology.
With a career spanning a fashion and costume Penny Winter initially trained and worked in men’s period costume construction at the Royal Shakespeare Company and the English National Opera.
In the late 1990s she moved to Kenya and co-designed wardrobe for the films The Constant Gardener and The Last King of Scotland. Winter’s designs have be worn by Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Gwyneth Paltrow and Elle MacPherson, along
with Princess Caroline of Monaco, Helena Christensen. Winter’s designs have been worn at British Royal weddings, the Oscars and on the Red Carpet by Ali Hewson and Bono.
